The Sturmpanzer I Bison (officially the 15 cm sIG 33 (Sf) auf Panzerkampfwagen I Ausf B) was Nazi Germany's first self-propelled heavy infantry gun, developed in 1940 to provide motorized infantry with immediate, mobile fire support. It was a makeshift solution created by mounting a massive 15 cm sIG 33 heavy infantry gun—complete with its carriage and wheels—directly onto the chassis of a turretless Panzer I Ausf. B.
