The 75th Ranger Regiment is the U.S. Army's premier large-scale direct action raid force, capable of planning and executing complex airfield seizures, direct action raids, and special reconnaissance operations on short notice anywhere in the world. Rangers were among the first U.S. ground forces into Afghanistan in October 2001, conducting the airfield seizure at Objective Rhino in one of the most complex airborne operations since WWII.

In the desert sands of Afghanistan and Iraq, the 75th Ranger Regiment conducted hundreds of direct action raids, developing the high-tempo 'find, fix, finish' targeting cycle that became the model for special operations targeting across the entire theater. Rangers in desert camouflage represent the regiment at its most operationally active, conducting the nighttime raids that kept insurgent networks off balance.
